This DVD offers a wide variety of Yoga options for people of all sizes, shapes and ages. A principal Yoga instructor at the Harvard University Center for Wellness for over fifteen years, John Schlorholtz has created a number of innovative, flowing routines that are safe for seniors and people with injuries or disabilities.
At the same time, the DVD offers people of any age or physical condition a deep, gentle work-out. "My main hope for the Ageless Yoga DVD series is that, not only will people get a good, appropriate work-out, but that they will also learn skills and information about posture and how their bodies work that will help them in their daily lives," says John. "I also hope the DVD's transmit the real joy of working with body and breath."
Keli Ballinger, Director of the Harvard Wellness Center, calls John's work, "great for young and old, stiff and flexible, and those with medical conditions, including arthritis."
The DVD contains about two hours of material that has been organized into dozens of routines. Ranging in length from five or six minutes to eighty or ninety minutes, the workouts are easy to fit into busy schedules. Topics covered include loosening up, joint freedom, strength, stretch, balance, breathing, and relaxation and meditation. No other DVD in the field is this extensive.
"As the population of America continues to age, more and more Yoga instructors are trying to figure out how to adapt Yoga to bodies that don't fit the standard Yoga formulas so that people can still get the proven benefits that Yoga offers," says John. "These DVD's represent my response to that issue, based on my years of Yoga practice with diverse populations."
